These sensors can help passengers and drivers know when the next bus will arrive. At the same time, by measuring the quality of water and air, it can provide information on various topics including weather.
Besides, environment-friendly development will also be possible with the help of these sensors. For example, this sensor can save electricity by turning off street lamps when there are no pedestrians on the road.
An “intelligent bus network” has recently been developed in Barcelona using data. The intelligent bus network is built on the basis of collecting data on how passengers are using public transport. The new network is much more efficient than conventional bus services. With this, 95% of the city's residents are getting better quality bus services. Again, passengers do not have to wait in line for a long time for the bus. Bus stops covered by this service are also connected to other transportation networks.
GPS sensors are also being used to provide emergency medical services in Barcelona. First, the emergency ambulance is identified with the help of traffic lights. And then the ambulance is guided while moving through the streets of the city, so that emergency services can be provided to the citizens before any major danger occurs.
